Named after / based on: Frank Dabney Peregory
The game name appears to correspond to Frank Peregory (1916-1944), a Virginia National Guardsman who landed in Normandy. On 8 June 1944 he single-handedly attacked a fortified German machine-gun position, killing eight and taking 35 prisoners. He was killed six days later and received the Medal of Honor posthumously. He had earlier earned the Soldier's Medal for a rescue.
