This website is hosted by IONOS. IONOS processes personal data on our behalf as a data processor (Art. 28 GDPR) that arises technically when this website is accessed (see Server Log Files, point 3).
When you access this website, our hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are:
This data is used exclusively for the technical provision and security of operations (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in a secure and functional website) and is not merged with other data sources.
This website uses the open-source web analytics service Matomo, operated on our own
server (matomo.talented-monkeys.com). No cookies are used
for analysis — tracking is entirely cookieless. Additionally, IP addresses are anonymized
before being stored, so that no conclusions can be drawn about individual persons. The
collected data (pages visited, time spent, rough origin, browser used) is processed
exclusively on our own server and is not shared with third parties or other services
(e.g. Google).
Since neither cookies are set nor cross-device personal profiles are created, this analysis is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in statistically evaluating the use of our website and improving our offering — separate consent is not required for this.
Analytics are only embedded on the live production website (hepheisto.com), not on development or test environments.
YouTube videos are embedded on this website. These are loaded using a "facade" approach: initially only a preview thumbnail is shown. This thumbnail is loaded from img.youtube.com (Google) when the page is opened, so Google technically receives your IP address at that point. The actual YouTube video (including the associated iframe from youtube-nocookie.com, operated by Google Ireland Limited) is only loaded once you actively click the thumbnail. Only with that click does your browser establish a connection to YouTube/Google's video servers, where YouTube may process data under its own responsibility (including IP address, device information). Further information can be found in Google's Privacy Policy.
This also applies to the Enlisted section, where community videos are embedded for many weapons, vehicles and squads (the creator and channel are named below each video). On pages with several videos, several preview thumbnails are loaded from img.youtube.com accordingly.
Only for the main video of a battle detail page with a timestamp list, the YouTube IFrame API script is additionally loaded from www.youtube.com/iframe_api after your click, so that the currently playing section can be highlighted in the list. Google also receives your IP address in that case. This script is not loaded on pages of the Enlisted section.
The legal basis for loading the preview thumbnails is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in an appealing and resource-saving presentation of the videos). You request the video itself and the IFrame API script by actively clicking.
On detail pages of the Enlisted section, weapons and vehicles can be displayed as a 3D model. The display uses the open-source component "model-viewer", which is served by this server itself. The model files (GLB) are also loaded from this domain, and only once the area becomes visible on screen (with your browser's data saver enabled, only after a click). No connection to third-party servers is made; only the usual server log files are created (point 3).
The "Unlocked" label on weapons, vehicles and squads shows the operator's personal game progress. No visitor data is processed for this.
This website does not set cookies. It does, however, store two settings in your browser's localStorage, and only when you use the respective function yourself:
theme: your choice between light and dark design (toggle in the navigation)en3d-mode: your choice between 3D view and image on Enlisted detail pagesgambling-stats-view: your choice between large icons and the compact list in the gambling statisticsThe values stay on your device only, are not transmitted to the server and are not used for recognition or analysis. They serve solely to restore the setting you explicitly chose on your next visit (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete them at any time via your browser's site data. Search field and filters in the Enlisted section store nothing locally; they are transmitted via the URL (see point 3).
"HepheistoBot" runs in the YouTube live chat of my streams and in the Twitch chat of my channel hepheisto88 (on Twitch under the account "hepheistobot"). It is identifiable as a bot in the chat; its replies are generated automatically. The controller is the operator named in point 1. On Twitch, the bot is only active while my 24/7 stream (reruns of gameplay videos) is also running on Twitch (see "Specifics on Twitch" below).
Data processed: display name, platform-internal user ID, message text and time of the message. On Twitch, a more restrictive rule applies to storage and logging (see "Specifics on Twitch").
Purposes:
!bot)Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is interacting with the community; you knowingly write in a public chat. You may object to this processing at any time under Art. 21 GDPR (see point 10).
Storage: Questions and replies (user name and text) are stored in a local database on the bot's server in order to reuse answers and to trace operations. The data is stored only as long as necessary for the stated purposes and is deleted regularly. On request by email to the address given in the Imprint (legal@hepheisto.com), I will delete the entries stored about you. For the Twitch chat, storage is restricted, see "Specifics on Twitch".
