John Baskeyfield (1922-1944) was a British lance sergeant who commanded an anti-tank gun detachment in the Battle of Arnhem. On 20 September 1944 at Oosterbeek he kept his six-pounder firing against German armour after his crew had been killed or wounded, and was himself killed. He received the Victoria Cross posthumously.
