Ken Moore (1924-2014) was a US Army paratrooper medic who jumped into Normandy on D-Day. With fellow medic Bob Wright he turned the church at Angoville-au-Plain into an aid station and treated more than 80 wounded men, about a dozen of them Germans, under mortar fire. Both received the Silver Star. Moore later served in the Battle of the Bulge.
