In the latest SITREP, the Enlisted team said it wants to improve melee combat, and now we have details on what that will look like.

Several animations are getting reworked: bayonet charges and charges with other melee weapons that support them, rifle buttstrokes, regular knife attacks, and the stance soldiers take while holding a knife without attacking.

Melee hits will also get more variety. Buttstrokes stay in, and punches are among the new additions.

Fighting while lying down is changing too. Prone soldiers won't swing their rifle stock anymore. They'll attack with their hands, a bayonet, or a pistol, whichever fits their position best.

All of this is coming in the next major update, and the team says more changes are included.
