Three wins out of four, plenty of tanks left burning, and one grenade nobody saw coming. That sums up Hepheisto's BR1 session on October 12.
Things kicked off with a German defense on D-Day, and it was a monster: 121 kills, 33 assists and a total score of 7,491. It also gave us the play of the day. An enemy Mills grenade got picked up and thrown straight back, taking out five attackers at once. On top of that, an Engineer took out an M3 Stuart with an Explosion Pack.
Japan nearly matched that with a 119-kill defense at "Heilongjang Airport" and three vehicles destroyed. Two T-60s went down there, one to the Type 97 anti-tank rifle and the other to an Assaulter's TNT Charge. Over in Pokrovskoe City the Soviets pushed through for a clean offensive win, and a Panzer II C was finished off with an Explosion Pack along the way.
The only loss came at Sword Beach, and it wasn't for lack of trying. The Allies destroyed four tanks there, three of them Panzer III Js, which made it the busiest anti-tank match of the day. The attack still fell short. It wasn't a total loss, though: 132,192 EXP and 14,565 silver made it by far the most rewarding battle of the session. All told it was a strong day of tank hunting, and that thrown-back grenade will be remembered for a while.
