Battle Report #199

Four BR4 matches, two wins, two losses. It was an even day, but it had some great moments. The Soviets opened at Lehrter Bahnhof with an offensive Destruction win, putting up 51 kills and 13 assists with a lineup that included PPD-40 assaulters and a KV-1 (L-11).

Then came the standout match. Defending Hürtgen Forest with the Allies in Invasion mode, the squads racked up 75 kills, 5 vehicle kills and a massive 38,044 EXP. The highlight list says it all. A Partisan took out a Sd.Kfz.251/9 with an explosion pack, an M9 Bazooka dealt with a Panzer III N, and a machine gunner finished off a Panzer II C with a TNT charge. The best moment came from a 20mm AA cannon, which brought down a Ju 52 "including Paratrooper". The line held and it ended in victory.

The second half of the day was tougher. Japan fell at Alligator Creek despite 55 kills, 20 assists and a destroyed M4A2. Germany's defense of Werbing Station West hurt even more. With 94 kills it was the deadliest match of the day. An Ofenrohr stopped a T-34-100, and a 105mm howitzer on the Train Cannon Carriage took out infantry, a T-34-85 and an entire APC squad. It still ended in defeat.
